Job Description:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Cosmetic Chemist to oversee the quality, formulation, and ingredient compliance of cosmetic products, including moisturizers, sunscreens, creams, lotions, and related skincare products. The ideal candidate will ensure products meet regulatory standards, safety requirements, and quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and approve cosmetic formulations (moisturizers, sunscreens, serums, lotions, etc.)
- Check and verify raw materials and ingredients for safety, efficacy, and compliance
- Conduct quality testing and stability testing of finished products
- Ensure formulations comply with local and international cosmetic regulations (e.g., PSQCA, FDA, EU guidelines where applicable)
- Monitor product consistency, texture, color, fragrance, and performance
- Maintain proper documentation, test reports, and quality records
- Coordinate with production and procurement teams for ingredient approval
- Identify and resolve quality-related issues in formulations and finished goods
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Cosmetic Chemist or in cosmetic product quality/formulation
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, preservatives, actives, and UV filters
- Familiarity with cosmetic safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with sunscreen SPF testing and formulation
- Knowledge of stability testing and shelf-life evaluation
- Understanding of GMP and quality assurance procedures
